Last month, we implemented Sulit Messenger which allows you to receive instant chat notifications of messages posted in your bookmarked ads and private messages through Yahoo Messenger. But what if you are not using Yahoo Messenger?

Now, we are announcing a new feature that you can use to be notified with new messages through your system tray. Introducing the Bookmark RSS Feeds which is a feed of all messages to your bookmarked ads and Private Messages RSS Feeds which is a feed of all your private messages.

To enable notifications through your System Tray, please follow these simple steps:

Bookmark Messages

1. Download the Feed Notifier Installer for Windows
   
2. [ Desktop ] Install Feed Notifier (double click the downloaded installer)
   
3. [ Desktop ] Run Feed Notifier from your Start Menu. A new RSS icon (orange color) is added in your system tray.
   
4. Visit your bookmarks page by clicking Manage Bookmarks under Member Menu
   
5. Right click on Bookmark RSS Feeds link (above the paging links) and click Copy Shortcut or Copy Link Location menu item
   
6. [ Desktop ] Right click the new Feed Notifier RSS icon in the system tray and click Add Feed menu item
   
7. [ Desktop ] Paste the copied link earlier in the Feed URL field
   
8. [ Desktop ] Adjust the Polling Interval depending on how often you wanted to be notified of new messages
   
9. [ Desktop ] Click OK button
   
10. [ Desktop ] To ensure that you will be notified everytime you use your computer, place Feed Notifier shortcut under your Startup folder in your Start Menu

Private Messages

1. Install and Run Feed Notifier if you have not done so (check steps above)
   
2. Visit your private messages inbox page by clicking View Inbox under Member Menu
   
3. Right click on Private Messages RSS Feeds link (above the paging links) and click Copy Shortcut or Copy Link Location menu item
   
4. [ Desktop ] Right click the Feed Notifier RSS icon in the system tray and click Add Feed menu item
   
5. [ Desktop ] Paste the copied link earlier in the Feed URL field
   
6. [ Desktop ] Adjust the Polling Interval depending on how often you wanted to be notified of new messages
   
7. [ Desktop ] Click OK button

• Feed Notifier - works with windows system
  
• RSS Notifier - requires Java Runtime Environment and works with Windows, Mac and Linux
  
• Snackr - required Adobe AIR Runtime and works with Windows and Mac
  
• RSS Ticker - works as an addon to Firefox Browser
  
• Feed Invader - works as an addon to Firefox Browser (you must be a member of feedinvader.com)
