Software Engineer - Mobile App Development
Responsibilities
- The primary job responsibility is to maintain and enhance the company's software products and services, specifically software applications for mobile device platforms (e.g. Android, iOS, etc.).
- Translate high-level designs and mock-up user interfaces into working applications.
- Cooperate with all of the company's relevant teams, including the rest of the Development Team, to ensure that all developed software products and services are:
- developed according to the needs of the users.
- optimized within the medium of the product/service (e.g. search-engine optimized for web applications, performance-optimized for mobile devices for mobile applications, etc.)
- Explore and implement new technologies and techniques that will improve the performance and efficiency of the company's software products and services.
Technical Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent education (preferably engineering course)
- At least one year of experience or equivalent demonstrable practical knowledge in native Android application development using the Android SDK or in native iOS application development using the iOS SDK.
- At least one year of experience or equivalent demonstrable practical knowledge in back-end web development, especially with PHP, MySQL, and Linux.
- Can easily adapt to an Agile way of thinking
- A good understanding of code versioning (e.g. CVS, SVN)
Test Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Design and development of test plans specific for different software applications and services.
- Receiving, interpreting, and documenting error reports from users.
- Development and implementation of functional and regression tests.
- Tracking of reported problems and defects within the development process.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of methods and processes used in quality assurance of software applications and services.
- Knowledge and experience in modern test methodologies.
- Well-developed analytic skills.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Javascript is preferred.
- Knowledge of PHP and SQL is a great advantage.
UI Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Develop, enhance, and maintain user interfaces that ensure optimal usability, aesthetics, and consistency.
- Translate high-level designs & requirements from the Product Management Team into mock-up user interfaces.
- Explore possibilities of optimizing existing user interfaces to focus on achieving user goals
- Ensure cross browser compatibility of the implementation of the UI of software products and services
- Coordinate with other Development Team members to ensure the proper implementation of user interface design
Requirements:
- At least one year of experience or equivalent demonstrable practical ability in creating and designing web sites with a focus on usability.
- At least one year of experience or equivalent demonstrable practical ability in front-end web development, especially with XML, HTML, CSS and Javascript.
- Knowledge of and experience with open-source front-end libraries such as jQuery and its plugins, Blueprint CSS, etc.
- Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and other related design tools.
- Basic knowledge of PHP is a plus.

Software Engineer
Responsibilities:
- The primary job responsibility is to enhance and maintain the existing online marketplace website - Sulit.com.ph - and its related applications.
- Development activities include implementation of new features and enhancements to the existing website, and the implementation of internal applications as needed.
- Translate high-level designs and mock-up user interfaces into working applications.
- Work with the Product Management Team and the rest of the Development Team to ensure that all developed external applications are developed according to the needs of the company's products' users.
- Work with the Online Marketing Team to ensure that all developed external applications are search-engine optimized.
- Work with the Systems Administration Team to optimize performance and scaling of the system
- Implement new technologies that will improve the performance and efficiency of developed applications.
Technical Qualifications:

- At least two years of experience or equivalent demonstrable practical knowledge in back-end web development, especially with PHP, MySQL, and Linux.

Senior IT & Network Administrator
Job Responsibilities
- Help manage servers running Sulit.com.ph (development and production)
- Provide technical backup to Team Lead on server migration and scaling activities of Sulit.com.ph
- Network office computers and related hardware.
- Install, monitor, administer, ensure availability and security of Linux based Internet servers, routers, and switches.
- Administer network workstations.
- Assist in the evaluation, recommendation and purchases of computers, network hardware, peripheral equipment, and software.
- Perform and/or oversee software and application development, installation, and upgrades.
- Perform and / or assist in the Installation, testing, evaluation of new open source technologies as assigned by Team Lead.
- Conduct capacity planning and analyze the impact of configuration changes and / or increased traffic on the internal NETCON server infrastructure.
- Configure and maintain IP, LAN / WAN.
- Create and distribute reports to include but not limited to: network utilization reports and LAN/WAN Maps.
- Use network and diagnostic tools such as cable testers to resolve complex network communication problems.
- Create and maintain detailed network documentations.
- Perform server and network troubleshooting.
- Also perform hardware and software troubleshooting
- Investigate user problems, identify their source, determine possible solutions, test and implement solutions.
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure that monitoring of production server services: Nginx, Memcached, Dbs, Backups are properly monitored and reported to superior when problems have been found
- An active participant in employing new enterprise frameworks related to IT Governance using CobIT
- Ensure that all relevant notifications are properly escalated to senior engineers and if necessary assume roles that needs immediate response to production related issues
- Ensure that DR efforts are well documented and carried out according to rules setforth by CobIT
- Ensure the management of network equipments and devise ways in maximizing connectivity to all staff
- Escalate security issues found in production systems both internal and external
Skill Set Required
- Knowledge in Windows troubleshooting (Linux knowledge is an advantage)
- Knowledge in network troubleshooting and maintenance a good understanding of layer 1-2 switching
- Knowledge in PC Hardware/Printer troubleshooting
- Good client support orientation
- Good knowledge of IT hardware systems necessary for interfacing with IT vendors

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Development team and build on latest mobile web technologies and come up with features and products for next generation phones, tablets and other mobile devices;
