- What is the Advanced Editor?
The Advanced Editor, previously called WYSIWYG or (What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get) Editor, is a content editor similar to MS Word where you can see right away the actual formatting of the text you are typing or editing. It features the familiar toolbar that can help in formatting the content.
The Advanced Editor is available for use in posting an advertisement, forum topic and reply, and private message.
- How to add a link?
To add a link using the Advanced Editor, follow these steps:
- Type the text that you want to insert a link on. This is called anchor text.
- Highlight the text to enable the Insert Link toolbar icon.
- Click the Insert Link toolbar icon to display the Link editor.
- Input your URL in the Link URL field.
- Select Open link in a new window in the Target dropdown list.
- Click Insert. Your anchor text is now linked to your URL.
- How to insert an image?
Before you can insert an on your advertisement, forum post, or private message, you have to upload it first on a 3rd party image repository, such as ImageShack or PhotoBucket.
Once you have done this, follow these steps to insert an image using the Advanced Editor:
- Click the Insert Image button.
- In the image window, specify your Image URL.
- Don’t forget to add an Image Description for your image.
- Click Insert to add your image into the Advanced Editor.
- Click the Insert Image button.
- How to embed widgets and other HTML codes?
To embed any HTML code in the Advanced Editor from other websites, like videos from YouTube, follow the simple steps below:
As for this example, we are going to use the embed code from YouTube.
- Get your embed code from the website. On YouTube, you can find it here:
- In the Advanced Editor, click the Embed icon.
- A pop-up window will then appear where you should paste the Embed Code that you have copied on your clipboard from YouTube or other websites.
- Click Insert after entering your code and a placeholder will appear within the Advanced Editor.
- The actual widget will be displayed after submitting the form.
- Update and Publish your advertisement.
