just fyi, if half of the lcd panel display is turning black then its already defective and needs to be replaced. even if the display goes back, the problem will still persist and will eventually worsen.

this is only applicable if you have a tray-loading optical drive. powerbook g4 uses slot-loading optical drive which do not have the pin-hole to manually eject the tray since it doesn't have the tray in the first place.
anyways, i can remove the stuck cd and also have a dvd replacement drive for this unit.. contact me at 09167918924 if interested. thanks!
