Job Description - Radio Talk Show Transcriptionist Required

 

Location: Home Based

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

We require a transcriptionist who can accurately transcribe over 250 1 hour audio files. The files are recorded in MP3 format and contain the talk show host, guest and occasionally a third person. The recordings are of a high standard. The files vary in size however are usually about 1 hour. The subject matter can be on any topic from politics to detailed scientific talks.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

   1. Some experience preferred.

   2. Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability.

   3. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including fluency with American English language use, grammar and punctuation.

   4. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer, E-mail, electronic medical dictionary and electronic medical spellcheck software.

   5. Proficiency with all aspects of Windows based-personal computer, including any necessary general office equipment necessary for efficient at-home transcription position, (i.e. fax, printer, etc.) as specified.

   6. Complete understanding of transcription style as outlined in the AAMT Book of Style.

   7. Ability to comprehend diverse dictator accents and dialects and varying dictation styles.

   8. Ability to key a minimum of 150 lines per hour.

  9. Ability to work at home independently with minimal supervision.

  10. Ability to follow written and oral instruction with minimal supervision.

  11. Ability to work under pressure with time deadlines.

  12. Excellent eye, hand, and auditory skills and coordination.

 

 

Payment: Per show transcribed... we currently have over 250 so this is a long term offer.

Is this position still open?  I may not be 100% accurate but I can understand English.  The audios sound interesting.  I am used to transcribe 1 hour audios on medical interviews between doctors.  Or used to transcribing 1 hour legal proceedings on video.  But the length of transcribing may vary from interview to interview.  If the audios are clear and there are no overlapping of voices, that would be a bit easy to do.
