If you prefer to visit the U.S.A. as tourist, I suggest that you seek an invitation letter from your husband. It will expedite your intention for the said U.S.A. visa and in fact shall make your application more credible. Upon submission of all the documents that the U.S. Embassy requires, it will take less than a month before the result comes out.

Since you are employed in one of the banks in Makati, it will make your application even more convincing. All you have to do is to complete all the papers that the said embassy requires. Example are the following:

Please be informed that passporting requirements varries in age. For example, if the subject person for passporting is a minor, companionship of the parent is required. In its absence, DSWD clearance shall be needed. On the other hand, if the subject person is 60years old and above, that doesnt require any personal appearance in the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

Since I dont have the complete information, let me just give you the basic requirements assuming that the applicant is first time to apply for a passport and of legal age (18-59) years old:

2. Four (4) pcs passport size picture, royal blue color background, formal attire with collar, no earings

3. NSO Birth Certificate

4. Birth Certificate from LCR if NSO Birth Certificate can't be read

5. NSO Marriage Certificate for married woman who wishes to use his husband's surname

   - Driver's License

   - PRC ID

   - Old school ID (Elementary, H.S. or College accompanied by Diploma, Form 137/TOR, Yearbook)

I availed the service for authentication of my academic documents. I was promised to get the "authenticated documents" by August 28.
This morning, I was informed they will be get by September 18.
I hope this is the final date and I am wishing I can still use my papers coz deadline for enrollment is too close.

Hello! You may visit your husband in Guam as you wish. However, please be reminded that prior securing a visa, you'll be required for a personal appearance in the embassy for an interview. I guess the reason why it gives you less confidence in getting the said visa is because your documents are not yet complete. I may say that you are initially on the right track because you have the material documents needed by the embassy in assessing your application. Examples are your assets and your DTI Registration.

If you have two (2) condo units, the condominium certificate of title must be in your name or in the name of the spouses. The same shall apply in the car registration. You will also have to secure a mayor's permit because the DTI is intended only for a business name registration and not a license to operate. Aside from that, you should have filed a regular income tax return at least for the previous year or for the year ended December 31, 2008.

         i would like to seek assistance regarding the requirements for tourist visa for italy. My b.f. and I was invited by our family friend from italy. We already have the invitaion letter and insurance from italy. Both my parents are also working there.

Questions:
1. Do we need to answer the questions with * sign on the application letter?
2. My b.f previously work in a call center. He got his COE(cert of employment) last month and he just resigned recently. Will he pass the COE even if he resigned already?
3. I am currently working, do i need to pass also a certificate leave of absence?

Dear Joann,

Aside from the invitation letter and insurance that your family friend from Italy has provided you, it should be supported by other documents substantiating their capacity to invite you. This includes proof of funds and other means confirming their facilities to accommodate you and your boy friend for the entire period of your visit. Anticipating embassy verification on the other hand, it is skeptical when other person invited you instead of your parents who are likewise working in Italy. This is just a simple tip to twinge your mind prior submitting your application. Be cautious on that.

ANSWERS:

1. Yes, you need to answer the questions with * sign on the application form. You are not a family member of an EU or EEA citizens (spouse, child or dependent ascendant) that provided the lettero de invito;
2. Yes, your boy friend needs to present a certificate of employment. It must appear that he did not resigned, otherwise, he would have a slim chance of securing the visa because it is possible that he may recourse to public funds the moment he arrives in Italy;
3. Yes, you need also to pass a certificate of leave of absences. This confirms the fact that you will come back in the Philippines the moment your visit expires.
