Dean Eclar, Singer-guitarist, Solo Performer

Dean or Ferdi to close friends had been a member Machine, City Born, Euphoria and AMO playing at different Shakey’s Pizza Pubs in the 80s. He’s got the moves and his voice easy and melodious on the ears. They played in concerts around Manila – the Pinoy Woodstock and a tour of Luzon cities Olongapo, Naga, Laoag, Baguio, etc. While a member of Machine and City Born, he went to Kumamoto City and Oita, Japan in 1984 and 1989.

In 1990, he went to Switzerland and then stayed for 12 years in the U.S.; there sang in Florida, fronted for Imelda Papin in Boston, Massachusetts and played with the Classics Band in Maryland. He had performed for various Fil-Am organizations in the Washington, D.C. area; numerous events and notably, at the State Department’s New Year’s party for two years, 1993-1994. He owned Golden Bowl Restaurant in Virginia for 5 years, 1996-2001 and became its owner, chef, entertainer, karaoke DJ and PR man.

He came back to the Philippines in 2002, opened a restaurant called Options in Tomas Morato, Q.C. for 1 ½ years, and played with Smoking Machine and Megatone. He also had Retrock Band which played at Adelaide Bar, Dapo’s, In & Out, Dencio’s Banawe, Aldo’s, Ardi’s and Corik’s; Megatone which played at Blue Fin along Katipunan; Moomba in Mother Ignacia, Far Side of the Road, Hobbit House, Amazonia, both in Manila and at Fuente Circle and OJ’s in Eastwood City and played as a solo artist (singer/guitarist) at Bela Bar in San Juan. He also did session work at the Watering Hole with Touchdown, an alternative group. He was also the vocalist/guitarist for two nights a week at Spotlight Show Bar in Filmore, Makati with the Spotlight Band.

At present, Dean sessions with D'Aurora, Dean Clarke Band, 1st Option Retro Band, but best of all, Dean is also a solo performer, a one-man band, a singer-guitarist with his own gear/sound system ready to roll, for small parties and gatherings. Sing-along with him and enjoy music of the 50s to the 80s and even some new songs with different genres like rock and roll, pop, classic rock, folk-country and many others. Want a rockaoke party, then Dean is the guy for you!

On the personal side, he is married with one child and all three of them are performers and he is just real proud about it. His wife, Elise, is a jazz singer and band booker, while his daughter Dianne Elise is a recording artist under MCA International label.
