Kanossa Beach Resort

Kanossa Beach Resort was formed in the year 2000 millennium the house was started to built in year 1999 and finished in 2000. This was owned by the Sussex Family from Guam USA. First it was a vacation or rest house of the Sussex family every time they have to come to Marinduque to visit the family. The 1st guests who stayed in the house were 9 nuns or sisters from “Cannossian Sisters” from Quezon province doing missionary works at Marinduque. The sisters are asking, what’s the name of the place, that’s where we got the name of “Kanossa Beach Resort”.

The main house is made of local materials from coco wood, bamboo but the main structure is made of concrete. It has only 4 bedrooms, 1 bedroom is with air con the other 3 is with electric fans. The breeze is very nice actually you don’t need air conditioner. The main house is wrap around with balcony so wherever you are you can see the ocean. The place is good for family vacation, a group of friends or even for honeymooners. There is a pavilion with bar, you can do karaoke while drinking beer, wines, tequila and other liquor. You can do ballroom dancing and hire a dance instructor from the local people. It has flowering plants all over the place and some banana as well as papaya plants. Local masseur for massage is available too.

The place is very beautiful, you have a view of the three (3) islands what we called Tres Reyes, the water is very clear and island is calm and peace. You wake up in the morning by the crushing of the waves on the sand is very soothing to hear, it’s very therapeutic.

The nephew who had been married for 10 years, bears no child but when they stayed and take care of the house they have been given a twin baby girl, a niece who wants to have one more child after taking care the house they had a baby girl after 11 years, the newly wed care taker got pregnant too. We would say that the place is good for people who are hoping to have a child.


The place is good for family vacationing from abroad or from Manila, group of friends who wants to get out of the busy life in Manila, we do accept christening, wedding, birthday, family & school re unions, religious groups seminars using the place as a venue.

You can buy souvenirs like plate holder, glass holder and etc made of nito, fans hand painted, key chain hand painted, pencils hand painted, t-shirts & hats & other souvenirs and don’t forget the foods & other delicacies made from the island.

How To Get There

There are different ways of getting there:
By Air – It’s only 30 minutes by airplane from Manila domestic airport thru Zest Airlines.
From Gasan airport to Kannossa Beach Resort it’s only 15 minutes.

By Land & Boat thru JAC Liner Bus going to Marinduque
From Manila you can get a bus from JAC Liner station in Quezon City
(Tel Nos. 09175225463) the bus leaves at 8:00 p.m. but you have to be there at 6:00 p.m. to get a seat. This bus goes inside the ferry. And you will be drop of at the gate of the Kanossa Beach Resort just tell the conductor you have to be drop off at that place (Kanossa Beach Resort is next to Katala Beach Resort) on the way back you can coordinate with the JAC liner conductor what time they usually pick up at Kannossa Beach Resort (usually the bus pass by KBR at :00 p.m.

Or by what we call Door to Door
There are SUV or Vans operator who will pick up passengers from your place
in Manila and drop you at Kannossa Beach Resort same thing on the way
back.

The following are boat schedule going to Marinduque thru Talaw-Talaw,
Dalahican port in Lucena City:

12:00 noon, 4:00 p.m. 12: midnight & 2:00 a.m. regular time, during Christmas time and Holy Week it changes.
From Manila to Dalahican Port in Lucena City – 3 hrs – land transportation.
From Dalahican Port to Balanacan Port, Mdque – 3 hrs – boat transportation
From Balanacan Port to Kannossa Beach Resort – 1 hour – land transportation or you can catch the fast boat for only 90 minutes from Dalahican Port to Balanacan Port.
