Heeding this demand, Cebu Business and Investment Consultants (CBIC) was organized in the later part of 1990. The major services being offered are corporate matters, tax and business consultancy, accounting and auditing services.     * Registration of the business and investments with appropriate government agencies like the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), Board of Investments (BOI), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Central Bank of the Philippines (CB), Bureau of Customs (BOC), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Philippine Tourism Authority (PTA), Garments and Textile Export Board (GTEB), Bureau of Foods and Drugs (BFAD), etc.
    * Registration of patents, trademarks, service marks, royalty agreements, and designs with the Bureau of Patents, Trademarks and Technology Transfer (BPTT) of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
    * Assistance in joint venture transactions and negotiations; and in the setting-up of joint venture companies or partnerships.
    * Acts and serves as Corporate Secretary of companies.
    * Assistance in the documentation and importation of materials, machinery and equipment.
    * Availment of tax and other incentives.
    * Preparation and review of client’s tax returns.
    * Tax and estate planning; settlement of estates.
    * Representing clients with the tax authorities in the examination of their books of accounts and records, protest of tax assessments, claim for tax refunds/tax credits.
    * Advise clients on the tax implications of their proposed business, financial and accounting transactions.
    * Assistance in the application and processing of BIR tax clearances relative to transfer or sale of real and personal properties; and change in the registered ownership of said properties.
    * Preparation of legal documents and contracts.
    * Assistance in securing Philippine visas such as special resident retiree’s visa, investor’s visa and employment visas of expatriates of foreign companies.
    * Assistance in filing application for various permits such as Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC), Permit to Construct (P/C) and Permit to Operate (P/O) with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
    * Generally acts as consultant and adviser on any legal, tax, and business matters affecting clients.
