The MYOBRACE® is a new development in orthodontic treatment based on the time proven principles of the positioner concept.

Incorporating the very latest CAD and dual moulding technology pioneered by Myofunctional Research Co, the MYOBRACE® features high-tech design characteristics to align the anterior dentition and the mandible into Class I.

This intra-oral appliance features individually-sized tooth slots and DynamiCore™, the active inner core enabling controlled arch development.
The MYOBRACE® is suitable for most children currently in the mixed or permanent dentition with mild to moderate malocclusions.

Early treatment - The Pre-Orthodontic TRAINER™ (T4K™) is a practical early treatment of choice for the practitioner who is now using functional appliances for early orthodontic treatment, or practitioners who have not previously used early treatment because of the inherent disadvantages of other available appliances.

Habit correction - TONGUE TAG actively trains the positioning of the tongue tip as in myofunctional and speech therapies, TONGUE GUARD stops tongue thrusting when in place and forces the child to breathe through the nose,
LIP BUMPERS to discourage over-active mentalis muscle activity.

Dental alignment – The T4K™ is premoulded to the parabolic shape of the natural arches and adapt to large and small arches alike guiding the dentition into an edge to edge Class I jaw position.

Prevents extractions – The forces widen the arch gaining space for the coming dentition.

Class II or III correction - Mandibular growth achieved by changes in mode of breathing. Passive maxillary expansion achieved by change in tongue position plus bite opening. Considerable research shows changing a child from mouth to nose breathing increases the horizontal growth of the mandible and normalizes incisor position.

Bruxing limited - By double mouthguard effect it decreases aberrant myofunctional forces on the dentition. This facilitates faster tooth movement by removing the influence of interlocking occlusal forces.

Facial development - Jaw positioning - edge to edge Class I jaw position is produced when in place (same as most functional appliances). Combined with the prevention of tongue thrusting and forcing the child to nose breathe, Class II correction in particular, is achieved.

Closing open bites and opening deep bites - Simply by removing the detrimental effect of the tongue and the peri-oral musculature on the anterior dentition, prior to regular orthodontic treatment.

Lower anterior crowding - Arch length gained by reducing the effect of the overactive mentalis muscle. There is a facial improvement by changing mode of breathing and a passive arch expansion from change in tongue position.

Easier implementation, better compliance, tooth guidance and myofunctional training make this appliance an ideal choice for the child 6-10 with a developing malocclusion.


The Pre-Orthodontic TRAINER™ (T4K™) is a single size, prefabricated dental appliance designed to incorporate myofunctional and tooth positioning characteristics. Being prefabricated, it requires no impressions, no moulding, and can be applied to children from 6 years of age in minimal chair time. The T4K™ is specifically for treatment in the mixed dentition stage, while the permanent teeth are erupting and the child is still growing.

Starting T4K™


Eliminating Myofunctional Problems
The starting T4K™ (blue or green) is soft for maximum compliance and flexibility to adapt to the most severe dental misalignment. The child is shown where the tongue tag is. This position is where their tongue should be with the trainer in place. The child puts T4K™ into their own mouth. Do not try to fit it yourself. It must be used every day for 1 hour plus overnight while the child sleeps.
Use the starting T4K™ for 6 to 8 months.

PHASE II
Finishing T4K™


Correcting Tooth Alignment
Once the dental alignment improves, the hard T4K™ (pink or red) is used. This is much stiffer (same principle as orthodontic archwire).
As the teeth come into place, more force can be used to encourage their alignment. The myofunctional characteristics are the same as the starting T4K™.
Use the finishing T4K™ for a further 6 to 12 months.
Use beyond this period is recommended depending on the outcome and the next phase of orthodontic treatment.

T4A™

The T4A™ is like the T4K™ but designed for the permanent dentition. It has higher sides in the canine region to align erupting canines and the distal ends are longer to accommodate the second molars. The combination of labial bows and tooth channels with the 2 phase hardness, polyurethane material, give good alignment of anterior teeth. The MYOFUNCTIONAL EFFECT™ also retrains oral musculature making it ideal in retention and minor relapse cases. Phase 1 medium (hardness) Phase 2 harder (both polyurethane).

Retainer - The T4A™ can be used as a retainer immediately after debanding to hold the anterior dental position while allowing settling of the occlusion. This can be used as the sole retention for highly compliant patients, or supplemented with bonded 3-3 retainers.

Being more than just a retainer, the T4A™ simultaneously treats myofunctional habits that cause relapse, maintains Class II correction and does not break like conventional retainers.

Cosmetic alignment of the anterior dentition without brackets - Many adults have misalignment of the anterior teeth but do not want to undergo complex orthodontic treatment with fixed braces. The T4A™ can be used to treat these patients for both anterior alignment plus some Class II and deep bite correction. This broadens the possibilities for both orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry.

Correction of anterior alignment in conjunction with arch development appliances - Arch development can be useful to gain space and limit the need for extractions. Additional anterior alignment is usually needed following this with fixed brackets. The T4A™ can be used simultaneously with wire type arch developers for anterior alignment. This cuts treatment time and provides a simple no bracket system for a fraction of the cost of systems like INVISALIGN®.

Retention after orthodontic treatment with brackets - A single size appliance which holds both alignment and Class II or Class III correction while allowing for bite settling. Simultaneous oral musculature re-training can enhance the stability of the result over other pre-finishers and at a lower cost.

Anterior dental correction for minor orthodontic relapse - Minor relapse often occurs when retainers are lost or incorrectly used. Retreatments can be avoided in many cases using the T4A™. Patients are motivated not to have rebanding.
Many of these relapses can occur because poor oral habits have not been treated. The T4A™ addresses the myofunctional training (as does the T4K™ and T4B™) and treats relapse effectively into better stability.


Class II (mild) and deep bite correction in the permanent dentition - The T4A™ is similar in action to a "functional" appliance in correction of Class II and deep bite. The T4A™ is particularly effective in correction of mouth breathing and tongue thrusting. This action has been shown in published research to assist in Class II correction.

TWO PHASE system
The T4A™ is made from super elastic, high memory polyurethane material. This allows adaption to the patient’s arch form without special fabrication. The material imparts a light force on misaligned anterior teeth similar to the action of arch wire.

Phase 1 (Starting) T4A™
The Phase 1 T4A™ (blue or clear) is a softer material with the flexibility to adapt to misaligned anterior teeth. When used, light forces are applied to the anterior teeth to assist their alignment into the correct arch form. The T4A™ Phase 1 can also be used simultaneously with specific arch development appliances. Extra spacing in the palatal area means it can be used with Crozat, LAD, Q-Helix and BWS™ (BENT WIRE System™ – see video) appliances. Combined with the myofunctional habit correction of the T4A™, these light intermittent forces produce dental alignment improvements within 3-6 months.

Phase 2 (Finishing) T4A™
Phase 2 T4A™ (red or clear) is the same design but made in a harder material putting more force on the anterior teeth. It is to be used after the phase 1 T4A™ once more aligning force is required. This further improves the tooth and Class II correction (minor) while continuing the myofunctional habit correction. It can be phased into use starting with 1-4 hours during the day while continuing with the softer starting T4A™ at night. Treatment period varies and can be a further 3-6 months plus retention.
