grey market units are those not imported by samsung philippines. (they were brought into the country by parallel importers; some are even smuggled in.) as such, samsung philippines will not provide any warranty on grey market units.
it might be a good precaution for you to call the samsung hotline at 580-5777 to check if the seller/store you are getting your unit from is an authorized dealer of samsung philippines. the receipt that you will get from the seller should be issued by an authorized dealer, to validate the warranty on the unit.
the customer service rep on the hotline will also be able to tell you if the unit you got, or are about to get, is a legitimate samsung philippines unit, as long as you are able to provide the serial number on the unit. the rep will be able to trace if it came from an authorized dealer or not.
