Title: Set Up a Business in the Internet

Duration: Six Hours

Pre-Requisite: interest in learning internet tools for more/better earnings 

Target Audience: ex-OFWs, retirees, businesspeople

Aims: To present internet tools in simple terms in relation to solving business problems such as communications, sales and marketing

Objectives: At the end of the programme, the delegates will be able to:
• Describe what makes up the internet and the www (world-wide web)
• Describe various internet services: web servers and ISP's  
• Demonstrate an understanding of web and internet services: What is a web browser, a web site, a URL, a web server, a web client
• Demonstrate an ability to select the right internet tool/s for a given business problem
• Survive information overload - what is IO? Why is it a problem? How do we "survive it"
• Use search engines effectively - be able to: choose a search engine and find 
the right information using filters, know the importance of being "clearly visible" to search engines (e.g. SEO)
• Use Email effectively - be able to: select from any free email provider on the internet, create a personal email account, know when to use recipients "to" "cc" "bcc"   
• Use internet chat effectvely - be able to: select from any free chat provider on the internet, create a personal chat account, know how to use chat as a supplement to voice calls, SMS even face-to-face meetings. 
• Use free buy and sell sites effectively - be able to: select from any free buy and sell provider on the internet, create a personal buy and sell account, know how to use buy and sell sites for maximum business exposure.
• Use free web hosting sites effectively - be able to: select from any free web hosting sites on the internet, create a personal web site account, know how to use web hosting sites for best business results.
