Not anymore,” said Lito Pagayon, marketing communications director. Having skills in digital in demand nowadays in the field of advertising and entertainment. With the help of the computer, one’s ability to create and imagine can always be made into a highly-rewarding career. The First Academy of Computer Arts offers a complete program that covers intensive training on print media arts, advanced graphic arts, animation media arts and web design. To make the environment conducive for learning, the school practices 8:1 and 1:1 ratios. This means that “each class has eight students only and each has his own computer full time,” explained Pagayon. In addition, a Macintosh integration subject is included in all the certificate programs. This cross platform training using both Macintosh and Windows makes it easy for students to shift across operating systems on demand. “We teach our students digital arts and 3D Animation using the PC in order for them to work on their projects and homework at home. Then we teach them how to apply the same skills on the Mac, this way our students become ambidextrous and double their chances of employment,” said Luy. Short courses are also offered at the First Academy in amateur digital filmmaking, digital photography, digital comics, manga illustration, junior digital arts and digital scrapbook. |
