The emphasis of this text is on conditions that a practicing chiropractor might reasonably expect to see, and not primarily on spinal neuromusculoskeletal conditions. In fact, the chapter on that subject, often seen as the only domain of chiropractic medicine, is small; the bulk of the book addresses the management of organic conditions--those which can be treated with manipulation and conservative care and those which the chiropractor must know how to diagnose and refer. Williams & Wilkins is to be congratulated for publication of medical information from a profession that seeks therapeutic strategies outside of surgical and chemotherapeutic interventions.
