However, a two-day Basic Beekeeping Training is mandatory to gain a comprehensive knowledge of the business. It costs P3,500 per person which includes the cost of venue, lecture manual, certificate, protective bee veil, lunch/snacks, projector rental, speakers honorarium, professional fee during the 2^nd day actual field manipulation of bee hives, and the cost of transportation during the field visit or practicum.

If you buy 2 colonies(Apis mellifera) @ P20,000 accompanying smoker and hive tool, will yield after 3 harvests a total income of P32,400 by June 2010. The 2 starting colonies have a standard size enough to accommodate ten honey frames. After splitting the 2 colonies into 6 colonies by July or August 2010 (along with the procurement of additional 4 queens, 4 standard sized colony boxes, 40 frames with waxes), you can expect a total of 7 harvest seasons until July-August 2011 with a total income of P226,800.
