Sam Milby (born Samuel Lloyd Lacia Milby on May 23, 1984 in Troy, Ohio, United States), is a Filipino-American, the son of a white American father and a Filipina mother, who joined Pinoy Big Brother as a housemate who later turned actor, commercial model, and recording artist. He is part of ABS-CBN talents ever since.
Discovery
Aside from his immediate family, Milby did not grow up with many Filipinos around. Yet the talented Fil-Am was no foreigner to his mother's homeland. He, along with his family, had visited the Philippines several times before. At one time he did take a shot at Philippine showbusiness. But pressing personal matters then prodded him to return to the States.
On his March 2005 arrival in the Philippines, Milby decided seriously to pursue a career in showbusiness and modeling. At that time, he temporarily stayed with relatives in Bulacan. Everyday he would take the bus to Manila to answer casting calls and auditions for modeling. Results were not always encouraging but his tenacity did yield some results. He landed bit roles in certain ads. Then came a big break from Close Up when he starred as the lead in their TV commercial with Barbie Almalbis.
Personal Life
He had been linked to Toni Gonzaga and Valerie Garcia, Michaela Melania and Marianna del Rio but Sam all denied these issues. He is the ex-boyfriend of actress Anne Curtis. They were together for almost 3 years.
Accident
In October 2009, the actor got an accident from his place, Pasig going to Pampanga to attend Anne Curtis lil sister's birthday.He was fine but his van was greatly damaged. Right after the accident, he immediately contact Curtis about the accident.The same year but in July,Curtis got an accident too.
Interest
Milby is one of the actors of SAGIP KAPAMILYA who helped and donated things that are needed by the victims of typhoon Pepeng and Ondoy. He is also the World Vision ambassador and Department of Education spokes person.
