Running the Program

Each of the CDs is self-running.  Simply insert the CD-ROM in your CD drive. The application should start automatically.  If you do not have auto-run enabled for your CD drive, follow the steps below to start the programs:

1. Insert the CD in your CD drive.

2. Click on the Start button and select Run.

3. Type D:/Becker.EXE (where D is the drive of your CD-ROM drive).

4. Click OK.

Troubleshooting

If you experience any audio or video problems while viewing the lectures, please check the following:

1. Make sure that only the latest version of QuickTime is installed.  Click on Start, Settings, Control panel.  Double-click on the QuickTime icon.  In the drop-down box, select About QuickTime.  Verify that the version is 5.0.2 or later.  Remove any versions older than 5.0.2.

2. Adjust the QuickTime settings sound.  In the same drop-down box as step 1, select Sound Out.  In the Choose Device for Playback drop-down, select wave out or Wave Out: Windows.

3. Adjust the QuickTime settings for video.  In the same drop-down box as step 1, select Video Settings.  Select the Safe Mode (GDI Only) option.

Before You Start:

You must have a PC with the following minimum configuration to use this software:

-          Pentium 200 or higher

-          Windows 98 SE, NT 4, ME, 2000, XP Home

-          64 MB of RAM

-          12x or higher CD-ROM drive

-          SVGA video card capable of running 16-bit colors

-          Mouse

This software is best viewed with high color resolution settings.  Please check the following before inserting the CD:

            1. Right-click on an empty area of your desktop.  Select Properties from the pop-up menu.

2.  Click on Settings tab.

3. Locate the Color Palette section (normally in the middle left of the screen).  Click on the drop-down arrow and select the highest setting available on your computer (normally 32-bit or True color).  At a minimum, select 16-bit color.

4. Click on Apply button.  You may see some prompts depending on which version of Windows is installed.  You may also be asked to restart your computer.  Please follow the prompts to make sure the new setting is applied correctly.
