FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: GOLD LITE PLAN

1. What are the basic application requirements 
The basic requirement for a Smart Gold Lite plan is a valid ID with an address. Additional requirements may be requested from an applying subscriber for two or more account subscription and a request for higher credit limit.

2. Why is the call rate (SMART to SMART) of Lite Plans cheaper than the regular plans?
SMART to SMART calls are cheaper for Gold Lite Plan. This is in place of the handset that comes with our standard plans when you avail a new line or retention package.

3. Why is there a contract? Why six months?
Like any other packages which offer a genuine postpaid subscription, the six months contract is already a reasonable lock-in period for all our SIM only postpaid new application and retention promos.

4. Will my call rates revert to the Smart Gold standard rates once my 6-month contract has expired?
No, you will continue to enjoy the P2.00/minute Smart-to-Smart voice rate as long as your account is active.

5. After I consumed the P300 MSF/Plan, are SMART to SMART calls still at P2.00/minute?
Yes, SMART to SMART calls will still be at P2.00/minute whether you have consumed your 300 monthly subscription fee. This also applies for Lite Plan 500 to 2500.

6. How are the Gold Lite Plans better than other standard SMART Plans?
The Gold Lite plans are incomparable with our standard plans and vice versa. The Gold Lite Plans are catered for those who would want to invest more on the savings they would get out of the P2.00/minute SMART to SMART calls. On the other hand, our regular plans are designed for individuals who would like to immediately own free handsets at an affordable package.

7. Aren’t you going to offer handsets that come with the Lite Plans?
SMART is continuously in the process of coming up with great offers specific to the needs of its subscribers. We will take note of your recommendation. Thank you for your interest in our offers.

8. Is this a promo or a permanent service/subscription type?
Yes, this is a permanent SMART Gold offer.

9. Do Smart Gold Lite plans have International Roaming? 
SMART does not offer International Roaming for our Gold Lite Plan 300 to 1200 subscribers. Gold Lite plans were developed for a segment of our market who require affordable local voice call rates.

Subscribers under Gold Lite Plans 1800 and 2500 may request for International Roaming. However, financial documents must be submitted.

Existing subscribers who have International Roaming in their Standard Gold Plan, and who migrated their account to Gold Lite shall continue to enjoy International Roaming in their Lite plans.

We shall officially advise our subscribers once International Roaming is offered for Gold Lite 300-1200. Thank you for your interest in our International Roaming service.

10. What is the allowable cap limit for pasaload? Pasaload transactions are allowed. Cap limit are as follows:

• Plan 1,200 and below: P 300 per month
• Above Plan 1,200: P 500 per month

11. Why Gold Lite Plan 300 subscribers are not entitled to receive a print-out copy of their billing statement?

Gold Lite subscribers with Plan 300 will not receive a print-out copy of their monthly bill once our online system is ready to handle the demand for online bills viewing.

The reason for this is we intend to develop our Plan 300 subscriber base as the pilot model for online bills viewing which is now the market trend similar to credit card companies and other service-oriented corporations. Rest assured that we will not implement anything that will have an adverse effect to your postpaid experience.

B. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: FOR EXISTING STANDARD GOLD SUBSCRIBERS

1. I am a Gold subscriber with no existing contract. Can I migrate to Smart Gold Lite? 
Yes, you may apply for migration to Gold Lite Plan. Only Plans 500-2500 are available for existing subscribers applying for migration to Lite.

2. I am a Gold subscriber with no existing contract. Can I avail of Smart Gold Lite Plan 300 for retention?
No. Smart Gold Lite Plan 300 is only available for new line activations.

3. Do I have to sign for another contract?
Yes, this offer has a contract of 6 months.

4. I am an existing Gold subscriber and I am still under lock-in. Why can’t I migrate my plan to Smart Gold Lite?
Since you have already availed a free handset for your lock-in period, we encourage you to stay on your current plan and maximize the benefits of your Gold subscription while your contract remains in effect.

At the end of your contract period, you will have an option to avail of another handset or migrate your plan to Smart Gold Lite.

5. Is it okay to have my line cut and converted to Smart Gold Lite?
It is not necessary to have your line terminated. If you are already outside your lock-in period, you may apply for migration to Smart Gold Lite.

6. Will I be able to get a free handset if I avail of the Smart Gold Lite plan?
No. Those who will avail of the Smart Gold Lite plan will not be entitled to a new handset.

7. What if I want to avail of a handset after my 6-month contract?
Unfortunately, you will not be entitled to a FREE handset even after lock-in period. However, you may apply for migration to the standard Gold plan with handset. Standard calling rates will apply. Submission of financial documents is required.

8. When will my new plan take effect?
Your new plan will take effect on your next billing cycle.

9. I want to keep my mobile number, is that possible?
Yes, there is no need to change your mobile number.

10. I availed of your SIM-only package with free 15-minutes on-net voice calls. Can I convert my SIM-only plan to Gold Lite?
Existing SIM only subscribers will keep their 15-mins FREE on-net voice for the remaining duration of their contract but will NOT enjoy the new rates for the Smart Gold Lite Plan.

However, you may apply for migration to Smart Gold Lite plan once your contract expires.

11. Since we are existing subscribers, we should also be included in the P2.00 per min calling rate.
Smart Gold Standard Plans offer free handsets depending on the plan availed and for a longer lock-in period (24 months) while Smart Gold Lite offers lower call and SMS rates for a shorter lock-in period but without the free handset. These offers are packaged in such a way that it will serve the preference of each subscriber and what would benefit them the most.
