How much per kilograms of seeds? How many kilos do you think will suffice a half-hectare? What kind of seeds are suitable para sa "tubigan"? Pls reply. Thanks.

One Hectare needs 3 bags ( 120Kg.) of seeds, so, for Half an hectare you need atleast 1.5bag ( 60kg.) of seeds.

The price per bag of Certified seeds is PHP1,150. Most of the varieties we produce is for TUBIGAN AREA. ( I recommend RC 214)

1 bag of certified seeds is enough for a hectare field using the PalayCheck System which is known as Rice Check in Australia. Characteristics of the varieties to be planted should be identified and if the variety is new to the area, adaptability test should be done. not all varieties are applicable in an area,"Location Specific Technology Development"

For better rice production, you dont need to go as far as Australia,,,, we are more experienced to them in terms of rice production.... kaya di tayo umaasenso sa pinas dahil sobra bilib nyo sa mga WHITE COUNTRIES...... Yes its true that 40KG. of seed is enought for one hactare,,,, but have you planted or cultured rice atleast one time in your life?? These 40kg/ha. is true when you have a maximum field of 1 ha. to plant, WHY?? bec. you need a lot of labour to do from seeding to transplanting. Since transplanting is done manually in our country, then its verry verry hard for the magtatanim to plant the seeds at 1-2 plants per hill, spaced at 15cm X 20cm. Aabutin sila ng siyam-siyam sa pagtatanim, di ba?? at chaka kailangan din nilang kumita,,right?? How about if you have atleast 5 Hectars or more to plant?? In experement stations like PHILRICE and IRRI,,, they only use atleast 40 square meter for thier experement, and the results wil then be converted to Hectars. Try to imagine the difference between 40 SQ.M. to 10,000 SQ.M.( 1 Ha. ). We have been in rice production since birth, and seed production since late 70's ( the start of seed desemination program of our govt.)

I am a Civil Engr. and yet I still engage in rice farming bec. I find it a very exciting experience....

As early as June, we dont have anymore the availability of rice seeds,, so I recommend you to buy as early as April.

I need to know if your field is in Upland or Lowland position so I could recommend you the adopted variety..

RED RICE is considered a foreign element or Halo in our production of rice seeds, so we eliminate it immediately. Black rice is mostly produce in Japan, iI think,,, we dont culture it in the Philippines and besides you need a special milling machine for thse kind of rice bec. the the rice kernel is inclosed with Black sort of protection that the internal part of the rice is still WHITE. Hi, I dont know if brown rice exist, but if you want to know how they produced it or done it brown, then, it is simply done by boiling the RICE or PALAY ( Rice with Husk ) for couple of minutes, then have dried and later, milled. These practice is mostly done in the Indian Countries and exported in the USA and Europe.

RED RICE is a like a weed in our rice seed production, we eliminate it bec. it is considered not desirable in our rice seed production.

Red rice and Black rice (*actually its not Black, its Violet or Dark Violet) is available in Alfonso Catañeda, Province of Nueva Viscaya.
