What is Au pair?

An au pair is a domestic assistant from a foreign country working for, and living as part of, a host family. Typically, au pairs take on a share of the family's responsibility for childcare as well as some housework, and receive a small monetary allowance for personal use. Au pair schemes are subject to government restrictions which specify an age range usually from late teens to mid to late twenties.

SELECTION CRITERIA AU PAIR

An interest in or motivation for wanting to become an Au pair should include the following criteria:

                - Sensitivity

                - Empathy

                - Flexibility and service orientation

                - Feel for people/children

                - Average speaking skills in English or German

                - Positive disposition

                - Interest in becoming a part of the family

                - Trustworthiness

                - Love of children

                - Curiosity about and interest in Dutch culture and language

                - Warm and loving nature

                - Independence

                - Commitment

Besides the above mentioned criteria, as a Au pair you should realize are not an employee  and has come to the Netherlands because of your  interest in Dutch culture and language. All of the Au pairs provided through Myron Travel Consultancy have:

                - completed their elementary/high school education

                - a drivers license (if requested)

                - experience with children and babies

                - a good health certificate

                - a declaration stating they are not married

                - another declaration attesting to their behavior, including        references

                - a birth certificate

                - a passport

                - a pregnancy test, a week before arrival

                - HIV test on request

Requirements:

The requirements for an Au pair in Germany are as follows:

1. Treat children affectionately and responsibly.
   (Enjoy spending time with them)
2. Aid the family with ordinary domestic work,
   participate in family life and to respect family rules
3. Good health condition
4. 18-24 years old
5. childless & single
6. A1 Proof of basic knowledge (German language)
