WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO BE AN AU PAIR ?

  • you are at least 18 and not older than 24 years of age (German government requirement)
  • you are not married and do not have children of your own (Philippine government requirement)
  • you enjoy taking care of children
  • you are willing to assist with light housework
  • you are able to be away from home for up to one year
  • you are responsible, honest and dependable
  • you are interested in learning the German language, which will greatly help you in finding a good-paying job at a later point
  • you need to possess basic German language skills at the time of applying for the au pair visa (German government requirement)

Because the au pair may need to communicate in German language during an emergency situation, an au pair coming to Germany must have basic proficiency in the local language. During the visa application process at the German Embassy in Manila, there will be a short verbal German test. Nothing complicated, just very simple German sentences and phrases. We recommend that candidates take an introductory German course to prepare for this test. You can also find resources online that will help you learn basic German. Click here or send us an email at admin@youraupair.com.

Click here or here for the Au Pair guidelines as published by the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO).

Click here or here for details as published by the German Embassy in Manila.

  What is an Au Pair?

The au pair concept originated in Europe, and is a cultural exchange program. As an au pair, you are taken in by a host family, who provide you with a room and meals in their home. You are expected to be available for 30 hours per week, to help with the children and to assist with light housework. In return, you receive a monthly allowance of at least 260 euro. The host family will also pay for at least half (usually all) of the costs for any language courses the au pair enrolls in while in Germany. The au pair is covered by medical insurance during the entire stay, so that there are no costs in case of illness. You can remain in Germany for a maximum of 12 months as an au pair.

The youraupair team is responsible for finding a kind and suitable host family for the au pair candidate. Once a host family is located, the family will contact the au pair candidate to discuss mutual expectations. The au pair candidate is under no obligation and can reject a host family, just as a host family can reject an au pair candidate. If both sides agree to work together, an au pair contract is signed. Then au pair applies for an au pair visa at the German Embassy in Manila. Once the visa is granted, the au pair must attend the CFO country familiarization seminar. After this, the au pair is able to depart for Germany.

Au pairs are mostly women - 90% of au pairs will be female. But some families prefer to have a male au pair.

BENEFITS OF THE AU PAIR PROGRAM:

- your round trip travel costs (airplane tickets) are paid by the host family

- your lodging and food is paid by the host family (you live with them and eat your meals with them)

- your health insurance is paid by the host family (no cost to you if visit to the doctor or hospital is needed)

- at least half of your language school fee while in Germany is paid by the host family

- when the host family goes on vacation, the au pair usually accompanies them, of course free of charge

Details at www.youraupair.com.

HOW TO APPLY TO BE AN AU PAIR

Register at our site, click here.

Our services are provided 100% free-of-charge for the au pair.

Only the host family pays us a one-time fee, and then only when the au pair arrives in Germany.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a bright young person to legally come to Germany. You will have the chance to take German courses while in the country. You will meet new friends and experience the German culture. There is also the possibility to remain in Germany after the au pair contract expires, to either study, work or do both.

The youraupair team specializes in connecting Filipino au pairs with German host families. The au pair will never be charged by us, you will never have to pay a fee of any kind to us.

We will work very hard to find a friendly and kind host family for you, and we will help you through the visa application process. Even after you arrive in Germany, we will be in contact with you and always be available in case you have questions or need help.

Go to www.youraupair.com to register now.

This is a serious offer. We are a SMALL AND HONEST TEAM. We love the Philippines and visit as often as possible.

Our goal is to help young people, giving you the opportunity to establish yourself in Europe.

I am interested I am 22 y/o but I dont know how to speak german language how is that sir?

Basic German language skills are required by the German government. Without this, you will not receive an au pair visa. We suggest that you enroll in a language school to learn German. This is the best way to learn the language.

Yes we are a genuine agency! Of course we mentioned that basic German language skills are required by the German government. Did you read the ad? Finally, we do not set the age limit. That is another German government restriction. If an au pair comes to Germany from outside of the European Union, then the maximum age that au pair is allowed to be is 24. There is nothing we can do to change these requirements.

Why is there a requirement of being young and single? not married? no kids?

if a real family will be looking for someone to take care of their children the best candidates should be those who already have one of thier own..

is their any other requirement other than presented? like being a virgin? haha..

it looks like you are a sex slave human trafficker..

prove to us that you are not what we think you are..

post your POEA license and all legal papers you have there so we can check it out..

sorry but we Filipinos are wise and refuse to be easy preys..

Please inform yourself before you toss accusations!

You ask: "Why is there a requirement of being young and single? not married? no kids?"

Answer: Because the government of the Philippines requires this! Click here - http://www.cfo.gov.ph/images/stories/pdf/aupair_guidelines.pdf

You ask: "is their any other requirement other than presented? like being a virgin? haha.."

Answer: Not worthy of a response, actually. Very crude and childish.

You say: "it looks like you are a sex slave human trafficker..prove to us that you are not what we think you are.."

Answer: We have placed candidates as au pairs in Germany. These are intelligent young people who realized that we offered them the opportunity to experience Europe at no cost to themselves. We certainly have nothing to prove to you, especially not with the attitude you display.

You say: "post your POEA license and all legal papers you have there so we can check it out.."

Answer: Au pairs do not fall under POA control. An au pair does not register with POA, and neither do we as the placement agency. You would know this, if you had bothered to read and inform yourself before typing your confused message.

You say: "sorry but we Filipinos are wise and refuse to be easy preys.."

Answer: I agree with you. My experience shows that Filipinos are indeed wise. But there are always exceptions, which you have so vividly demonstrated through your comments.

Its not an accusation, it is just an inquiry and my opinion.. learn to appreciate what is a question mark..

so you do not have any legal papers at all to show us? even some valid IDs with your true identities? how can you operate your business without any legalities?
how can we file lawsuits in case of human trafficking or fraud if we can not identify or trace you?

Its better to be rude and safe than kind and sorry.. (this is being wise)

You say: "Its not an accusation, it is just an inquiry and my opinion..."

Answer: NOT an accusation? When you write "it looks like you are a sex slave human trafficker" that IS an accusation. A baseless and vile and slanderous accusation, for which you have no proof other than your opinion.

If you understood anything about the au pair program, then you would not be making comments such as: "how can we file lawsuits in case of human trafficking or fraud if we can not identify or trace you?" Let me explain for you:

We bring people who want to be an au pair in Germany together with families in Germany who are looking to sponsor an au pair. It works like this: 1) au pair registers with us, 2) we interview au pair to ensure that he or she is suited to be an au pair, 3) if we are convinced then we attempt to find a suitable host family, 4) to whom we then pass on the au pair contact details, so that 5) the host family contacts the au pair to discuss a possible au pair engagement, which can results in 6) the au pair and host family agreeing to an au pair contract in writing, after which 7) the au pair applies for an au pair visa at the German embassy in Manila and when he/she gets the visa, then 8) the host family books and pays for the flight to Germany of the au pair, where the au pair will be picked up by the host family at the airport and will live together with the family in their house for the duration of the au pair engagement. If, after point 5 either the au pair or the host family do not have a good feeling about the idea, then they say so and it ends right there. We then look for a different host family for the au pair.

The au pair never signs a contract with us. The au pair is never employed by us. The au pair is never paid by us, nor does the au pair ever pay us anything. (unlike some other au pair placement agencies.) The only fee we collect for our service comes from the host family, and then only once the au pair has safely arrived in Germany. We introduce the au pair to the host family, and from there both of them take over and we step back, available if questions or problems arise, but otherwise we are not directly involved. We only work with host families who agree to pay the roundtrip travel expenses of the au pair in full. This is unusual, since it is normal that the au pair pays his/her own travel costs.

It would have been nice if you had contacted us directly to discuss your concerns before publishing them here. Of course we could have deleted your comment, but we chose not to.One last time: we have nothing to prove to you. The way you are approaching this issue is that we are guilty of a crime ("it looks like you are a sex slave human trafficker") until we can otherwise prove our innocence to you. This is nonsense!

I have already spent too much valuable time responding to your messages. Be careful with your words. Accusing someone of being a "sex slave human trafficker" is a serious matter. I will leave it at that. If you have further questions, feel free to email us directly at admin@youraupair.com and have a look at our website youraupair.com to get a better understanding of what we are offering.

"it looks like you are a sex slave human trafficker"= my opinion

"you are a sex slave human trafficker"= an accusation

see the difference?

I really want the information about my concerns to be available in public for my fellow Filipinos to know.

anyway, thanks for the time giving more information and explanation.

This may save you from answering the same questions over and over again from interested individuals.

you should know by now that your ad have a too good to be true impression as you can see many doubtful comments.. (i assume its not just me)

suggestions:

- put some links on your requirements proving that it really is a government requirement like what you did in the comment for the Philippine govt requirement.

- have your facebook account connected to this ad post... add your previous Filipino clients as friends and also those who are interested to avail your service... this way you can interact with your costumers casually as a friend, they will know you are a real person and those Filipinos you already brought to Germany can also communicate your potential clients giving recommendations and feedback in your favor. I think this is the best way you can build relationship and trust to your clients...

- If it is allowed, you can also connect your host family and au pairs facebook accounts, I think this will be a good venue for enhancing the getting to know more experience of both parties..

best of luck,

T3Bitag

For All Our Kabayans,

This Au Pair Programme is really how it works in Europe, pero tama rin ang ibang mga remarks and comments na baka H Trafficking ito. Ito lang ang masasabi ko, you gather first all information about this kind of things bago kayo mag-desisyon.

Kung mayroon sa inyo na mag-inquire how to be employed abroad (as Executive, Professional, Domestic & Maternity Carers), nasa HR Consulting and Services ako, you may send me private messages to the following contact details:

It looks  like T3Bitag doesn't know about the system in au pair agencies in europe!!! If your not interested on being an au pair, just mind your own business. This ad is only for individual who want to work and study in germany.

Search and think first before you say anything!!!

Anyway, to all ka sulit who are interested being an au pair the post above is true. You should be single, no children, the age should not exceed 24 years old and you should have the Start Deutsch A1 certificate (Level A1 Basic German Language)  because it is included in the basic requirements in getting au pair visa.

Btw, I am learning deutsch as of now and the owner of this ad is very kind and accomodating.

Viel Glück
