A solar panel (also solar module, photovoltaic module or photovoltaic panel) is a packaged, connected assembly of solar cells, also known as photovoltaic cells. The solar panel can be used as a component of a larger photovoltaic system to generate and supply electricity in commercial and residential applications.

Because a single solar panel can produce only a limited amount of power, many installations contain several panels. A photovoltaic system typically includes an array of solar panels, an inverter, and sometimes a battery and interconnection wiring.

Solar panels use light energy (photons) from the sun to generate electricity through the photovoltaic effect. The structural (load carrying) member of a module can either be the top layer or the back layer. Electrical connections are made in series to achieve a desired output voltage and/or in parallel to provide a desired current capability.

Since our e-bikes use 48V 12 Ah batteries connected to the motor, our solar charger has an inverter to convert sunlight energy power to charge the batteries, thus giving it a continuous power while using the e-bike and even while the e-bike is parked. For 8 hours of 10 Watts solar charging, it adds about 80 minutes ride and 100 minutes for a 15 Watts solar charging. And more depending on the size of the solar panel.

For L.A.e-bike with solar panels, it extends the use for about 25-35% a day. For example the mileage of a regular battery operated bike is 60 kilometers, our L.A.e-bike solar powered can run up to 75- 85 kilometers if used or charged under sunlight. So, for a gasoline operated motorcycles, you save around P100.00 if your motorcycle uses 1 liter/30 kilometer ride or more savings if the mileage is shorter.

We have 2 types of solar chargers, panel type and box type. The panel type is attached to the e-bike and easily assembled. The box type can be used as dual purpose. You may use it to carry things and deliver anything from food, letters, medicines, etc.
