Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park was once known as PULO NI BURUNGGOY. On June 12, 1976 in Binakayan, Kawit, Cavite, the island was renamed as Covelandia Island Resort. The 12-hectare resort and hotel complex developed by the Manila Bay Island Resort Corporation had facilities such as functions rooms, floating pavilions, hotel rooms, cottages, a hotel pool and Jacuzzi, and a separate 3,000 sqm. two-layered swimming pool with four giant slides.

From 1976 until 1985, Covelandia Island Resort was highly recognized in the Philippines. Its reputation for excellent service and deluxe facilities made it one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Philippines. In pursuit of its commitment to continuously provide its guests with world-class services and facilities, Island Cove Corporation renovated and upgraded its facilities.

After 12 years in hibernation, the island was renamed to Island Cove Resort & Leisure Park. It reopened its doors to the public on October 11, 1997 with new facilities, including a 8-lane bowling alley, 3-hectare fishing grounds with a restaurant offering Filipino food, a Chinese restaurant, a family KTV, and a disco. Its grand opening was held on February 20, 1998.

In 2003, Island Cove Corporation decided to expand the resort. It constructed another 24-hectare man-made island connected to the existing one. An animal sanctuary called Animal Island was developed in this area. The Animal Island is home to different species of reptiles, mammals and birds.

In 2005, Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park was ISO 9001:2008 certified and accredited by the Department of Tourism as a triple “A” resort.
On its 10^th year, Island Cove Resort and Leisure Park was renamed Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park.As part of the company’s rebranding initiatives, Island Cove changed its logo. A considerable investment was likewise made to upgrade the resort’s existing facilities and add new amenities. Renovations were done in the hotel rooms, restaurants, and sports and recreation facilities. The bowling area was transformed into a grand ballroom. An Adventure Zone was developed, with team building facilities such as a paintball arena, an airsoft field and a challenge course. Biking was also added as an additional activity.

In addition to this, free wireless internet access was made available in most parts of the island. Guests have also been allowed to take their pets with them on their vacation. A Wellness Center, which holds the Island Spa and FIT CLUB, was built next to the Hotel. The Oceania Water Park added new attractions: giant inflatables and the Interactive Game Room. In February 2011, Island Cove was ISO 9001:2008 certified.

The Hotel at Island Cove offers a selection of accommodations to meet different wants and needs: hotel rooms, cabanas and dormitories. Hotel guests also have exclusive use of the Jacuzzi and pool at the courtyard. Within the Hotel complex is the Wellness Center, which holds the FIT CLUB and Island Spa. For business-related needs such as photocopying, facsimile and use of computers, the Business Center is open 24 hours. Free Wi-Fi is also available in most areas of the Hotel complex.
