Local and foreign tourists flock to Makati commercial centers, such as Ayala Center and Rockwell Center, primarily because of convenience, accessibility, quality of stores, ambiance, and interior and exterior environment that match world-class standards. The Makati police and fire departments have both been cited as the country's best units in 2004.
