--What is Au-pair/Caregiver
"Au pair" means "on par" or equal. An Au Pair is a cultural exchange visitor who travels to the United States (or another country) for 12 months to live with a family and care for their children. In return for full board, lodging and pocket money, au pairs agree to help with the children and perform light household duties. They provide a maximum of 45 hours per week (maximum of 10 hours per day) of childcare. The experience provides the opportunity to live and learn from another culture, and often includes the chance to follow a short study programme as well. Being an Au pair provides with a once in a lifetime opportunity which will not be forgotten.

An interest in or motivation for wanting to become an Au pair should include the following criteria:

- Au pairs are provided with the opportunity in taking a language course in order to strengthen their cultural learning.
