The Language Center provides students from non-English/Tagalog speaking backgrounds with the skills necessary to learn the English/Tagalog language. The programs are designed to meet the individual needs of students.
English for General Purposes (Beginner to Intermediate Level)
The program focuses on developing the student’s ability to speak English fluently and confidently, paying close attention to the pronunciation and the correction of any difficulties the student may have. It also aims to improve the student’s proficiency in listening, reading and writing.
This is an ideal program for those interested in developing fluency and confidence in everyday English.
English for Academic Purposes (Intermediate to Advanced Level)
The program provides specialized training both in written and oral proficiency. The program has study strategies needed for success at a university level. The student will learn to give formal presentations, participate in discussions, express his/her ideas clearly, and write academic essays and reports.
English for Individual Field of Interest
The program is designed for students who want to master further their English skills associated with business and commerce. The course includes any of the following: business correspondence, current affairs, telephone skills, writing reports, case studies, and reading business text.
Tagalog for General Purposes (Beginner to Intermediate Level)
The program aims to develop pronunciation and speaking skills, proficiency in listening, reading and writing. It is designed to integrate the language learning needs of a foreigner in the Philippines.
Tagalog for Individual Field of Interest (Intermediate to Advanced Level)
The program is designed for the student to attain communicative proficiency and competence in the field of interest of the student.
