Equipment to international standards?
To fulfill the requirements for standardized drilling and testing
techniques, Earth Drill Services equipment is designed to meet the
requirements of ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials),
AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation
Officials) and British Standards and ISO Registered Corporation.

Foundation Study
Exploration or stratigraphical survey usually consist of borings
undertaken in sufficient number and depth to identify the soil and rock
strata present and irregularities in stratification. Representative
samples are extracted by means of a 2-inch diameter split spoon sampler
which is driven into the soil with measured energy to permit the
correlation of penetration resistance with strength and other useful
soil characteristics. All samples are stored in sealed containers for
subsequent classification testing in the laboratory. Samples of soft
clay, peat or other weak materials are collected by pushing thin-walled
samplers or Shelby tubes in the soil.
In these samples, natural aggregation of particles and moisture content
are preserved so that strength and compressibility tests will yield
results that reflect the in-situ characteristics of the soil. In some
cases, these characteristics are determined in place by means of vane
augers and conical penetrometers. In vast areas, geophysical methods are
used. In rocks, core barrels are used to obtain intact core samples for
examination and testing. Drilling locations varies from inland, rugged
terrain and offshore areas.
Mineral Exploration
Mineral exploration techniques we usually employ include diamond
drilling, trenching, geologic mapping, geophysical and geochemical
surveys to determine mineralized zones or metallic and non-metallic
mineral deposits. A carefully planned program for determining the
structures present and the possible extent of anomalous zones for mine
development and exploitation is usually prepared. Samples are analyzed
for their mineral values and also metallurgically tested to determine
the amenability of the ore for beneficiation.
Well Drilling
Includes resistivity survey, well inventory, tricone drilling and
pumping test. Intensive study of data from wells drilled in the vicinity
is correlated with surface geology to determine the economic feasibility
of drilling each prospective well. Accurate delineation of individual
acquifer before casing perforation locations are set and proper sealing
off of individual undesirable, like brackish or salty water is done. At
the option of the owner, physical and chemical test and/or
bacteriological tests are undertaken on the capacity tests are also
undertaken.
Rock Anchoring, Soil Nailing & Shotcreting
Work involves horizontal and inclined drilling for tendons or steel
grouting insertion and cement grouting during foundation excavation
activities. These are normally alone for slope protection and soil
stabilization to protect existing structure, roads and the excavation
area itself from possible collapse and landslide which will delay ongoing
excavation activities. Rock anchoring design is usually based on
soil/rock conditions in the area as evaluated by our structural and
geotechnical engineers.
