HEIRS BOND
How is an Estate Settled? After agreeing among themselves, the heirs are allowed to execute an extrajudicial settlement - a settlement outside of courts. There are 6 common requirements for an extrajudicial settlement to be valid.

Item number 6: HEIRS BOND

a. Heirs Bond must be filed with the Register of Deeds.
b. Heirs Bond must be filed simultaneously with the extrajudicial settlement instrument.
c. Heirs Bond amount should be equivalent to the value of the personal property involved.
d. Heirs Bond will answer for the payment of any just claim at any time within two (2) years after the
    settlement and distribution of an estate.
