HSBC Red-Hot Phone Promo with Sun Cellular General Terms and Conditions
The HSBC Red-Hot Phone Promo with Sun Cellular Promotion (the "Promo") shall run from June 1, 2008 to September 30, 2008 (the "Promo Period"). Applicants must apply on or before September 30, 2008 and must be approved and activate their HSBC credit card on or before the Promo redemption deadline of December 31, 2008.
The Promo is open to individual applicants applying for an HSBC credit card as primary cardholders who complete and submit the special Promo Application Form within the application period who are subsequently granted an HSBC credit card (the "Promo Cardholders"). If the applicant falls under any of the following, he/she will not qualify to participate in the Promo:
Those with 2 or more existing HSBC credit cards;
Those who had cancelled any HSBC credit card at any time after 01June 2007;
Those who are applying for a Student MasterCard, Salary Plus Card or Corporate Card;
Those who replace, convert, downgrade or upgrade their HSBC credit card within the Promo Period, except if the replacement is made for a lost card.
Under the Promo, each Promo Cardholder will be entitled to receive one (1) Samsung M620 mobile handset for free (the "Welcome Premium") if the following conditions are met:
His new HSBC credit card is activated during the Promo Period prior to Welcome Premium redemption;
He subscribes to a pre-approved Sun Cellular Plan 350 postpaid plan (the "Plan 350") subject to a twenty-four (24)-month holding period at any participating Sun Cellular outlet;
He charges the entire value of the twenty-four (24)-month postpaid subscription, consisting of a Monthly Service Fee ("MSF") of Php350, to his new HSBC credit card under HSBC's 0% Installment Plan (HIP). For this purpose, if the installment card transaction is unsuccessful (i.e. the HSBC card cannot be used to pay for the HIP transaction for whatever reason), the Promo Card holder will not be entitled to receive the Welcome Premium;
He enrolls in Sun Cellular's auto-charge facility for all phone/service charges in excess of the Php350 MSF to be charged automatically to his new HSBC credit card;
He agrees to a deposit equivalent to one (1) month's advance MSF and other related fees to be charged to his new credit card at the time of obtaining the subscription to the Plan 350. The advance MSF will be credited back to the Promo Cardholder's Sun account at the end of the twenty-four (24)-month holding period net of any outstanding Sun charges.
The Promo Cardholder will receive one (1) Claim Voucher together with his approved HSBC credit card. To claim the Welcome Premium, he must present the following at any participating SunCellular branch listed in the Claim Voucher.
the Claim Voucher duly signed by the Promo Cardholder;
the new HSBC credit card under the Promo Cardholder's name;
the original and a photocopy of a valid ID with photo and signature of the Promo Cardholder
The Claim Voucher and photocopy of ID must be surrendered at the Sun Cellular outlet.
Welcome Premiums cannot be changed or exchanged for cash. The Samsung M620 (Silver Edition exclusive to HSBC's Promo) shall be available on a first-come-first-serve basis while stocks last. HSBC reserves the right to offer alternative items should stocks of the Samsung M620 mobile handset be depleted.
Promo Cardholders must maintain their HSBC credit card in good standing throughout the Promo Period. The MSF and Sun Cellular billings on auto-charge will form part of the total outstanding balance due on Promo Cardholder's account statement. If, at any time during the Promo Period, a Promo Cardholder's HSBC credit card is cancelled either by the Promo Cardholder himself or by HSBC, or if the Promo Cardholder is delinquent in the payment of any amount due on said credit card, the entire outstanding balance, whether billed or unbilled, on the Plan 350 subscription shall become immediately due and demandable. In the event of delinquency or default, HSBC shall have the right to report and/or include the Promo Cardholder's name in the negative listings of any credit bureau or institution.
In the event that a Promo Cardholder pre-terminates his/her Sun Cellular Plan 350 subscription before the end of the 24-month holding period, HSBC shall charge a pre-termination penalty of Php10,000 to the Promo Cardholder's HSBC credit card.
In case a Promo Cardholder is found to have made multiple redemptions under fraudulent means, as determined by HSBC according to the terms set forth herein, HSBC shall have the right to charge the retail value of the invalid redemptions to the Promo Cardholder's HSBC credit card.
All Welcome Premiums shall be covered by the standard manufacturer warranty. All complaints regarding defective Welcome Premiums as well as the services of Sun Cellular in respect of Plan 350 shall be handled by Sun Cellular.
Redemption of Welcome Premiums is from June 25, 2008 to December 31, 2008. Welcome Premiums that have not been redeemed by December 31, 2008 will be forfeited in favor of HSBC with prior approval from DTI. HSBC shall not be obliged to recognize or replace any lost or stolen Claim Voucher.
HSBC's Installment Plan (HIP) Terms and Conditions and HSBC's AutoCharge conditions apply.
All matters and disputes relating to this Promo shall be subject to the final decision of HSBC, with the approval of the DTI.
This offer cannot be availed of in conjunction with other ongoing HSBC credit card acquisition or Sun Cellular promotions unless otherwise specified.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Q: How do I avail of the Samsung M620 handset?
A: Upon approval of your new card, a Claim Voucher shall be sent to you as part of your new card welcome pack. You must activate your HSBC card and bring this along with your Voucher and valid ID (original + photocopy) to any participating The Sun Shop outlets. At The Sun Shop, have your new HSBC credit card swiped to put your Plan 350 postpaid subscription under 24-month 0% installment and under auto-charge. An advance service fee of Php350 shall also be charged as per Sun Cellular’s standard deposit policy for postpaid plans (refundable at the end of the subscription period, net of outstanding balances). The free handset and postpaid SIM shall be released to you after the card has been successfully swiped for both transactions.
Please note: the total subscription value of Php8,400 (Php350 x 24 months) on 0% installment will be counted versus your available credit limit. Each billing cycle over the 24-month term, the Php350 monthly service fee plus any charges in excess of this will be billed and posted to your statement of account.
