Eight-page letter, dated 21 March 1986, of the late Philippine President Ferdinand Edralin Marcos.
This was handwritten at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii (after his [alleged] kidnapping by the US Armed Forces) on 8.5"x 5.5" Malacanang desk pad papers.
It is addressed to "Mahal kong mga kababayan." Translated: My beloved countrymen.
It details events that led to his forced exile from the Philippines, his family's status in the military base, and his intentions to return and reclaim his presidency.
In 1986, photos of the letter was shown and transcribed in the "Philippine Daily Express," then, one of the Philippines' major broadsheet newspaper.
