Icom proudly announces the debut of a new 2m handheld transceiver, IC-V85E.
The basic features of the IC-V82 like 7W of high output power and user-friendly operation are shared with this model.
However, we have shrunk the IC-V85E in size and with a water resistant body, this pocket power tool is great for practical outdoor usage.
An external DC power jack allows you to use it with a cigarette lighter socket or a wall charger.
The oval up/down buttons and stylish appearance share the same design concept with the latest ham handheld line-up like the IC-E7 and IC-E91.
The IC-V85E is targeted at users of the IC-T22E series and also is durable enough for tough use in both the amateur and light commercial markets.

FEATURES

Full 7W of output power
The IC-V85 employs a highly efficient MOS-FET. With the supplied battery pack, BP-227, 7W of high power operation is possible.
The IC-V85/E provides stable output power and a practical 7 hours* of operating time. For longer operating times, 4W or 0.5W of reduced output power settings are selectable.

External DC power jack
An external DC power jack allows for operation with an external DC power supply (11.7–15.9V DC). When used with the CP-19R, simultaneous operation during charging is possible.

Compact body
While the IC-V85E provides powerful 7W output power, it is a compact unit with a height of only 110 mm. It is basically a “size smaller” than the IC-V82, making the IC-V85E a little power pocket unit. The IC-V85E is also build sturdy to take knocks and bangs in many areas of use.

Water resistant, equivalent to IPX4
The water resistant construction provides reliable operation in wet conditions, so it is safe to take this radio outdoors in any season.

Alphanumeric display
The large, easy-to-see display clearly shows channel name, operating frequency, memory number and so on. An S-meter icon shows the signal strength of the receiving frequency and output power level while transmitting.

A total of 107 memory channels
The IC-V85 has a total of 107 memory channels, including 100 regular channels, 6 scan edges and 1 call channel. The channel name is programmable with 5 characters for easy recognition.

Dynamic Memory Scan (DMS) system
The Dynamic Memory Scan (DMS) system divides regular memory channels into 10 groups, A to J, and provides easy channel selection. DMS allows you to scan all the selected banks you want to scan by simply adding/deleting bank links with Icom’s exclusive Bank Link system.

CTCSS and DTCS tone squelch
The CTCSS and DTCS tones are built-in for quiet stand-by and repeater access. Pocket beep and tone scan are also possible. The tone scan allows the operator to detect the subaudible tone that is used for repeater access.

DTMF and pager operation
The IC-V85 has 16 DTMF memory channels for remote controlling a repeater, telephone interconnect etc. Each DTMF memory channel stores up to a 24-digit code. The optional DTMF decoder unit, UT-108 provides pager and code squelch functions.
