Galing akong Globe kanina and they don't know anything about this service. Maybe they weren't informed yet.
I asked on how this Globe Duo works. They said you just need a regular sim card and once you subscribe to Globe landlines thru their Globe Menu, you will be assigned a landline number. But it will cost you around P500 for the landline only and can be used for a month and that's for landline calls only.
So I was wondering I'll get a Globe sim for P55 and subscribe to their landline for P500 and then subscribe to Superduo for P500? Ang labo ata nun. Parang mag-doble na yung bayad.
Sabi ko I'll just wait for the official announcement and maybe after subscribing to Superduo, that's when they will assign a landline number and free calls na sim mo sa Globe networks.
Until now they don't know about Superduo.Message appended on October 17, 2009 02:16PMAy wait. Does this mean you only get 1 number now? Wala na landline number? And you Globe number can call landlines at kasama sa unlimited? Medyo naguluhan na ako eh.Message appended on October 17, 2009 02:25PMFor everyone's benefit.
http://technogra.ph/2009/10/17/globe-duo-is-now-globe-super-duo/Globe Telecom launched a Wireless Landline service several months ago called “Duo”. To avail of the service, you need a Duo-enabled SIM Card which you need to purchase. You’ll have a Globe prepaid mobile number and your Duo number. With Duo you can call any landline within your locality for free, unlimited. You can also call other Duo users for free, unlimited.
Now, Globe upgraded their Duo service and is now called “Super Duo”. It’s now available to all Globe users and there’s no need to buy a new SIM Card. All you have to do is text SUPERDUO <Keywords> to 8888 to subscribe. The cost is PhP499 for 30 days.
With Super Duo, you can now call landlines and other Globe/TM users all around the Philippines for free, unlimited. If you’re currently subscribed to Globe Duo service, you need to deactivate it by texting DUO OFF to 8888. The remaining credits on your Duo account will be credited to your Super Duo account. One question though is if you will lose your Duo number because you turned it off. Globe did not make that one thing clear.
Refer to the following keywords to activate Globe Super Duo:
Text SUPERDUO <area> <plan> to 8888
Codes for Area are the following:
- MM for Metro Manila
- CEB for Cebu
- TAG for Bohol
- ROX for Capiz
There two plan options:
- 35 – P35 for 1 day
- 499 – P499 for 30 days
I am thinking of trying out the service soon but I can’t find use for the unlimited calling as I don’t call that much. If I decide to try the service out, will provide a full review here soon.
