Actually sir when it comes to contrast ratio & visual performances mas maganda talaga yung Plasma campare to LCD. And the frequency response is faster too. Kaya lang mas mabigat, prone to burn-in, thicker and madaling nag-iinit. As oppose to LCD. But that all change when Samsung came out with the 50" PN50B850Y1FXZA. It's very thin, not a lot of heat, 600hz, 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio. You should see it with Blu-ray Disc & Player. It'll knock your socks off.

But still they have catching up to do to reach the CRT levels (minus the screen sizes).
