Laptop On 24/7

hello. a good laptop with re-inforced cooling can easily operate continuously 24/7 in a suitable environment. However, this is not a good habit - that is using or leaving your laptop on extended/prolonged periods of time. Yes, it will heat-up, your cooling system may be able to handle that for quite sometime, but the build-up for a longer period will accelerate aging/deration of the components inside. Also, remember there are moving parts inside such as disk, fans, etc - continuous operation will shorten their lifespan. Yes, it will also hurt the battery and shorten the lifecycle. Your number one enemy will be heat - it may not get extremely hot, but the sustained temperature will beat your unit badly over time.

Not advisable it will shorten your laptop life. Try to buy cooler for it. If you need to run 24/7 use desktop instead. Easy to replace and upgrade and not as costly.

May mga laptop na pwedeng i-24/7... Like the Mac units pero expect na mainit talaga :)

Kaya nga may mga cooling fans, para ma-disperse ang init na nagko-concentrate sa loob at paligid nito.

And no for bypassing the battery. If you really need to bypass the battery, tanggalin mo na lang at i-direct sa outlet using the adaptor nito.


We got a hot climate here... Kung nasa air conditioned 24/7, I think walang magiging problema sa standby and 24/7 usage...

By the way, kung ang purpose mo eh hahayaan mo lang dyan sa tabi (without touching the unit), meron namang power saving feature yan na magpa-power down ng processor, harddrive (if not it use), monitor (blanks), and other hardware na di naman tumatakbo.

12 hours lang sa akin..may cooler ako pero di ko ginagamit kasi abala pa

correct po ...marahil ganyan nangyari sa acer laptop ng panganay ko kasi madalas maghapon magdamag naka-on ang laptop niya, may cooling fan sa ilalim at may naka-tutok pang electric fan ...madalas kong pagsabihan na baka masira kung wala ng patayan kahit na may fan siya ...di nakinig sa akin kaya noong last week nagtatanong sa akin kung saan niya puwedeng ipagawa kasi nasira na daw yata ang video card na built-in pa naman sa laptop....

Ibig sabihin lang nun.. di durable ang material....  Computers must be made for 24/7 usage.  At kung hindi man pwede, nasa manual yan na di pwedeng tumagal ng 24/7 kung talagang di pwede.  Otherwise, magkaka-kaso sila.

Kaya nga kung mapapansin ninyo, lahat eh may documentations.




PS: Computer is meant for 24/7.... It depends on your power supply kung di ito kayanin.  Pero ang bundled, ingat na ingat sa stability ng product nila.

Hi there... what sirs Nadski05, Huggs and EricMeister are sayin' are correct.
It's just like a car, you certainly could run it 24/7 but the milage you're accumulating takes a toll on your car. Which equates to shortening of its lifespan. Why not take advantage of sleep mode or hibernation mode. It'll save you not only energy and money but its lifespan too.

Marami akong kilalang walang patayan ng laptop. But they hibernates or standby mode if not on use...

Same thing sa america, lahat po ng gadget doon naka-standby mode lang... Pati TV, radio, computer at iba pang equipments. Siguro dahil mas matipid ang pilipino at...

masmaganda talaga kung my cooler or laptop fan, about the battery naman mas maganda din na pag nasa bahay ka lang at naka saksak sa adaptor tangalin mo nalang yung batt kasi ma over charge masisira agad,

oo ang alam ko maximum of 5 hours lang dapat pag gamit ng laptop eh.

pero ako notebook lang gamit ko pero naka open to ng 10hrs everyday... ok lang kaya..? hehe

tama dapat may pahinga naman...baka sobrang mapagod yan..hehe
