Almost every country I've gone to has one sort or another.

I believe it was during the Ramos administration that wanted to have this. Then during GMA's time the LTO wanted to put RFID on cars.

In both instances it was the leftists that was the most vocally against this.

What do you think would be the pros and cons?

Maganda yan kung each of us will be obliged to get the national ID. basically the advantage would be wala ng madami pang identification cards that you have to submit whenever you are applying for something.

RFID was feared by the congressmen because they were thought that someone in the then current administration would use it to track the location of their vehicles. They were afraid that they might be found in motels or mistresses houses.

Just make sure to moderate the greed during the issuance of the ID. The problem kasi is that everyone knows na may kikita nanaman diyan sigurado.

- simple arithmetic kasi, kung ang tongpat's sa cost per ID is P10, and they will issue 20 million ID's then ang kita ni Mr.X is . . . .

maganda may national ID talaga, pero marami pa dapat ayusin na bagay bagay, like system security, dami hackers, good luck naman, pero wala tayo law against cyber criminals. tapos immigration natin, anung silbi ang national ID kung labas-masok ang aliens dito sa atin, kelangan maghigpit ang immigration. another thing yung mga civil disturbances sa atin like NPA, MILF, and other rebel groups, paano kukuha mga yan ng national ID. at iba pang mga problema. in short kung di gagawin ng government ang tamang trabaho nila, wala mangyayari dyan sa national ID, maraming against dyan dahil natatakot nga naman sila sa security nila

Costing is a side issue. We should tackle first the principle on the necessity of having a unified personal identification system. Why there are a lot of resistance against it particularly with the leftists in and out of the government.

If used for good and not abused by those in power (prone kasi sa abuse dito eh), then I'll vote in favor of it. But if not, sasama ako sa mga leftist para kontrahin yan!

if it will help replace the need for a separate SSS, GSIS, Pag-Ibig, PhilHealth, NBI, Police clearance, TIN, Library Card

then i am all for it

Para mabawasan ang mga nakatambak na cards sa wallet ko.

national identification is really nice and maraming advantages. you don't have to carry a lot of identification cards, just this one, and i believe crimes will be lessened with this.

those who protested against this are the ones na may tinatago.

akala ko ba gusto ng leftist na may transparency dito sa atin, this is one way to do it. tapos sila ayaw nila? how ironic!

Really? We're included in the worldwide conspiracy of the Illuminati?

Does it help to know that I'm planning to join the Masonry in a few years or more? That I have many friends in the Masonry?

LoL!
