The idea of having rental properties as investment is indeed good choice. And you are right that there are top considerations for one to called successful investment.

Here's my top list.

1. Price - rental fee must jive into the type of property and the different features it provides.

2. Location - this is what people interest most, strategic location nearby city makes your property enticing.

renting out your property is a great way to make a non earning property pay its keep :) Depending on the price it becomes beneficial to both parties, and even forges tenant and owner alliances

Yes you are right george, good thing to know that there are now responsible property management who could handle the managerial task of your property when you don't that enough time and wanted to earned from it.

Yes I definitely agree that the price plays an important role on how your property would be beneficial to you and your target audience. You can come up with an appropriate price through evaluating the current market prices plus knowing your competition and the range of prices they offered.
