Hi.. I am sorry to say that you can't use CDMA phones here in the Philippines not unless your provider has a roaming partner who would give you signal while you are here. Way back 1995-1998 (just an estimate), SMART Communications offered network service that worked on CDMA phones while GLOBE has always been on GSM ( phones that uses SIM CARDS). Eventually SMART fell for the GSM market because of its advantages and demand. Since then, all telecommunications company here in the Philippines followed the trend/demand. If you have a GSM phone and you want to use it here.. it should be UNLOCKED from your provider in order for you to use it with a local SIM - could be prepaid or postpaid. Hope this info helps. :)

yup

CDMA is only used in USA and JAPAN these days

- Some techs in GRH could install a sim holder on the phone.

- this makes it usable

- but the way they do this is not recomended

- rough handling of the unit could cause the soldering to loosen resulting in malfunctions

- I had a CDMA phone once (sony CEO)

- It now sits next to my other antiquated phones in my display case
