you have small engine displacement, it means i will not consume half of your tank all day in city. there are people more concern on how their car consumes a fuel rather than keeping themselves alive on the road. remember at one point, if you are driving automatic, you already engaged yourself in buying lots and lots of liters of fuel whereas for manual cars, this makes lots of diff'rence when it comes to fuel consumption. manual cars has variable attitude towards consuming your tank of fuel, it is directly proportional to the behavior of the driver.. the rough driver you are, the more fuel you need to go from one point to the next, the more religious driver you are, the less you consume fuel.
for a 1.8 liter engine with no modification done to it with stock tyre size, 1 liter between 8 to 10km city with low on revolution...

if you change your wheel size within its allowable range, its okay. otherwise you are compromising spare parts if it gets smaller or bigger diameter from its original size.
